In 2006, Dr. Woodford became certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. In 2007, she became certified in Equine Veterinary Acupuncture by the Chi Institute in Florida.

Dr. Christine Woodford has six years of experience in equine veterinary medicine. She has been providing chiropractic for three years and acupuncture for two years. She has given several educational demonstrations, taught courses at Kirkwood Community College, and has written educational articles for horse magazines. She has worked on a wide variety of horses from Belgian draft hitch horses to miniature show horses and has a proven record of delivering effective results. She treated the Iowa High School Rodeo Champion Barrel Racing Horse and the 2008 Pinto World Champion Western Pleasure Horse.
Dr Woodford has developed an excellent reputation and network in the performance horse market through a lifetime of active involvement in the horse industry.

In May of 2008, Dr. Woodford founded Veterinary Integrative Performance Services, Inc. (VIPs). Her overall goal is to keep the horse's body balanced through chiropractic and acupuncture to optimize the horse's health and performance. Chiropractic is a drug free approach to Animal Health care. It focuses on restoring proper motion to the spinal column and limbs to keep the nervous system working optimally. The goal of Acupuncture is to unblock stagnation and allow "Qi" to flow properly. This will restore balance and harmony to the animal. Acupuncture can help the body heal itself, and reduce the amount of drugs needed, thus reducing the unwanted side effects. Acupuncture and chiropractic therapy can be mutually enhancing and it is beneficial to integrate both modalities into your animal's healthcare plan. Integrating the various forms of therapy can decrease the possibilities of injuries and optimize the health and performance of our equine friends.
